Inside the Creative Process Series: Adrian Sutton speaks about mechanisms of his own creative process.

Join Adrian Sutton in conversation with Professor Mark d’Inverno for a lively, insightful discussion and evening reception. Hear about Adrian’s exciting and varied career as a composer, his diverse range of skills and knowledge, and the challenges and rewards of its creative process. Gain insights into what he has learnt about the mechanisms of his own creativity and that of others, and what he continues to learn.

Adrian's work as a composer includes a diverse range of projects. The best-known are his scores for the National Theatre's hits War Horse, Angels in America, Coram Boy and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, which have gained him Olivier and/or Tony nominations and in the case of the latter, a joint Olivier Award for Sound Design in 2013.

Classically-trained at London University's Goldsmiths College, his work blends a symphonic narrative and harmonic richness with contemporary studio technology, sound design and software design.

Away from theatre and the studio, his output includes orchestral and chamber works, among them War Horse – The Story in Concert (for orchestra, chorus and narrators) the symphonic poem War Horse Suite, A Fist Full of Fives performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra on Radio 3, a children's concert opera The Griffin and the Grail, a Sinfonietta for small orchestra, and a Double Piano Sonata.

Many years of TV and film work include music and sound design for Chris Morris' Jam, Blue Jam and the BAFTA-winning short film My Wrongs.
