A sectoral analysis of how technological strategies, offshoring and unionisation influence profits and wages in six European countries.

Mario Pianta is Professor of Economics at Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence. He was a member of the Centro Linceo Interdisciplinare “Beniamino Segre”, Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (Italian Academy of Sciences), Fernand Braudel Fellow at the European University Institute, Visiting scholar at the Centre for International Studies, London School of Economics, Chercheur invité at CRPS, Université Paris 1, Panthéon Sorbonne and Research fellow at Columbia University. Among his recent books, "Explaining inequality" (with Maurizio Franzini), Routledge, 2016, and "Global justice activism and policy reform in Europe. Understanding how change happens" (ed. with P. Utting, A. Ellersiek), Routledge, 2012.
