Interview and Q&A with film editor Jonathan Morris featuring a screening of MY NAME IS JOE, directed by Ken Loach.

When Jonathan Morris left school he became trainee to his brother, who was an assistant film editor. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s he worked in British TV on series such as ‘The Saint’ and ‘The Champions’ and on documentaries, working with John Pilger among others, until meeting director Ken Loach for whom he edited a Fly-on-the-wall documentary about the party conferences for the Labour and Conservative parties in 1982. He went on to edit Ken’s drama ‘Fatherland’ and has been his regular editor ever since.
His credits with Ken include Riff-Raff, Raining Stones, Ladybird Ladybird, Land and Freedom, Carla’s Song, My Name is Joe, Sweet Sixteen, The Wind that Shakes the Barley, Looking for Eric and I, Daniel Blake. He is currently in post production on Ken’s next film Sorry We Missed You.
Tonight’s presentation, MY NAME IS JOE, won several awards, including Best Actor for Peter Mullan at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival.
