Mezzo soprano Yiyi Zhang and pianist Hamish Brown perform Mahler's 'Rückert-Lieder' and 'Kindertotenlieder' song cycles in this lunchtime concert.

Yiyi Zhang began her vocal studies at seven years old. Yiyi has often taken part in vocal ensembles and she plays the piano to a high level. Music is a fundamental part of her life, so she has completed an undergraduate degree in music at Jimei University in China, and she is currently undertaking a Masters in Performance and Related Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she studies with Caroline Lenton-Ward.

Hamish began his musical education by learning the guitar and trumpet as a child, but he was inspired to pursue music in higher education after he began learning the piano at twelve years old. He is a music graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London, and he is continuing his studies there in a Masters in Performance and Related Studies course. Throughout his time at Goldsmiths he has been a regular participant in various ensembles, and he often accompanies performance seminars, masterclasses, and exams.
