A course for teachers working in Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.
If you are a teacher wishing to develop your teaching in the area of poetry, this is the course for you. It will help you to find accessible ways for pupils to read, write and talk about poetry, across a wide range of poets, poetic forms, styles and moods. It will also focus on teaching styles and methods in relation to poetry, favouring a 'dialogic' approach both on the course but also for the pupils in your class. Following the initial session, you will be asked to bring your classroom experiences and the pupils' work and discussions back to the course. We will share these, commenting in constructive ways and Michael will share his expertise at the same time.
