Join us for the launch of a new public artwork to commemorate the 1977 Battle of Lewisham

- Dr John Price, Head of the Department of History
- Damien Egan, Mayor of Lewisham
- Vicky Foxcroft, Member of Parliament for Lewisham Deptford, Shadow Minister for Civil Society
- Mark Thompson, Lewisham poet and community advisory group member
**Rain is forecast, so please dress appropriately. In the event of heavy rain, speeches will take place in the Library social learning space on the ground floor**

‘Aug 13: What Happened?’ A film depicting the infamous events of 13 August 1977, when a National Front march through South East London led to clashes with anti-fascist groups, and later between demonstrators and the police.
'The Battle of Lewisham - Rise of the People' A film by Nacheal Catnott centered on the Battle of Lewisham and the effect that this memorable event had on the fight towards racial equality in Britain.
