ARLIS celebrates women's art through slides

Goldsmiths looks back at the 35mm colour slide and the way it has helped introduce the work of women artists into the curriculum with an evening of simultaneous projections in the stunning converted bathhouse of Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art.

This is a collaborative project with Goldsmiths BFA Curating students who will be presenting and projecting their slide selections and thoughts on the collection throughout the event. In addition we invite one of Goldsmiths most eminent slide Projectionistas, Astrid Schmetterling, lecturer in Visual Cultures, to reflect on golden days of slides in the classroom.

We also invite art librarians to bring along boxes or fill carousels with their favourite slides of women's art to run simultaneous projections within the space.
