Navigating faith literacies and identities through religious film

Arani Ilankuberan will present her research into the way British Tamil teenagers negotiate their faith identity and faith learning through viewing Tamil Hindu devotional films. Drawing from a three-year longitudinal ethnographic study of three Tamil teenagers’ religious film viewing practices, the study explores the way viewing film becomes a site for learning and experiencing faith.

Arani Ilankuberan, PhD student, Goldsmiths, University of London
