CMRU presents: 'Caprice 3 - A Sense of Place', with Visiting Research Fellow and violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved and guest American composer Michael Alec Rose.

The first of two salon evenings, reflecting on collaboration and inspiration.

Michael and Peter have collaborated for many years on a series of works and this event see's them talk about 'Il Ritorno', a cycle of pieces resulting from the composer's love and understanding for Dartmoor, and evolved through a series of workshops and interventions on the moor itself.

In addition, Peter will talk about his cycle of works, commissioned by Kunsthallen Bergen and written in collaboration with the great Norwegian artist Jan Groth.

Music to include: Michael Rose 'Il Ritorno', Peter Sheppard Skaerved 'A Futhork for Jan Groth', 'Divisions' by Thomas Baltzar and Heinrich Biber, and 'Caprices' by Roger Redgate

Free event, all welcome.
