An evening of talks, demos and discussion with Lumen Prize artists exploring biotechnology and the Posthuman as open-ended systems.

The first in a series of Artist Seminars in partnership between Goldsmiths, Department of Computing and Lumen Art Projects. This event will feature four Lumen Prize artists who will explore the idea of Posthumanism and biotechnologies as open-ended systems and how this has influenced their practices.

Our speakers:

Christian Mioclair – Lumen Prize Shortlist 2019 (Berlin).
New media artist and choreographer.

Amanda Baum and Rose Leahy, Baum & Leahy – Lumen Prize Shortlist 2019 (London).
Translators of intangible phenomena and complex ecological dynamics into sensorial experiences

Nicola Schauerman, Genetic Moo – Lumen Founders Award 2013 (Margate).
Creators of immersive, interactive experiences inspired by popular science and biology for more than 10 years.

Schedule:

5:30pm - Doors Open for Artist and Student Demos, Drinks and Networking

6:20pm - Introduction from Carla Rapoport, Lumen Art Projects.

6:30pm - Talks begin

7:10pm - Panel Discussion

7:30pm - Networking

8:00pm - Finish

The venue is a 7 minute walk from New Cross Station.
