Following our Lockdown Live show, final year MMus and BMus Popular Music students perform sets live from the Albany Theatre, Deptford and via YouTube.

After our PureGold Lockdown Live show on 12 June (still available on YouTube!) our final year students on the MMus and BMus in Popular Music at Goldsmiths, perform sets of original work, featuring singer-songwriters, bands, electronica and cutting-edge audiovisual work. Sets will be live-streamed via YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/GoldsmithsMusic).

4 pm: Skulk ESP (Chris Bartholomew-Fox)
Skulk - n. A group of foxes
ESP: Electro-Acoustic SoundPainting
Skulk ESP is an ensemble of improvising musicians using the SoundPainting gestural language to create complex compositions in real time. Created in 1970s New York by Walter Thompson, SoundPainting uses the physical actions of the SoundPainter to instruct or request the performers. Just as spoken language can be vague or specific, SoundPainting can be used to describe precise musical ideas or define parameters for improvisation. Setup by Chris Bartholomew-Fox, the band aims to challenge the calcified hierarchies of classical music by offering each performer continuous creative choices. Made up of violin, cello, clarinets, trombone, percussion and electronics, Skulk ESP asks the question: how can music be directed by an individual but be the voice of a group?

7.30 pm Rosie Alena (Rosie Alderton)
