How do we understand emancipatory trajectories in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

The book takes up the fundamental question of ‘the political’ in cultural studies, and shows the importance of this problematic for understanding culture, community and activism in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Reconceptualising the political as a set of emancipatory practices, the book examines different moments of ‘emancipatory repoliticisations as well as political closures’.

This careful and sensitive study identifies the frameworks that have shaped the cultural and
political strategies and possibilities of post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina, and shows the importance of building new frameworks for emancipatory politics in contemporary world.

Jasmina Husanović will present her book, and will be joined by Kiran Grewal for discussion.
