Virtual launch of Audrey Allwood's monograph, Belonging in Brixton: An Ethnography of Migrant West Indian Elders in Brixton, London

Please join us for the virtual launch of Audrey Allwood's monograph Belonging in Brixton: An Ethnography of Migrant West Indian Elders in Brixton, London

This book is about how West Indian migrants encounter their day to day lives, as elders, residing in a sheltered housing scheme in Brixton, London through adapting to the social changes within which they negotiate their sense of belonging. Utilising the transnational and inter-generation life span gaze, combining elements of oral history, narrative and ethnography, it provides insights into encounters with social networks, state services, and family networks that produced genealogy charts.
