A glimpse into the study of children’s illustration

A long time ago, (but perhaps it was only just last week), there were 18 determined illustrators. They drew and drew, telling many, many stories, immersed in the world of children’s books. Tales of long-forgotten memories, fantastical creatures, and distant lands started to pour forth.

On 12-15 July, those 18 illustrators are pleased to present their stories at the MA Children’s Literature & Book Illustration 2021 degree show, held on-campus at Goldsmiths University of London, in the Professor Stuart Hall building.

The show offers a glimpse into the study of children’s book illustration, exhibiting the 2020-21 cohort’s sketchbooks, drawings, and work from the past year, culminating in a picture book project. Visitors will find a variety of styles, themes and media, brought together by a mutual love of children’s literature. The exhibition showcases the outcome of a year of study as a chapter in each student’s illustration journey.

To accommodate these times, the exhibition will be available both in person and virtually. The on-site show provides the opportunity to enjoy browsing the books and the shop and to chat with the friendly faces behind the work at the beautiful Goldsmiths campus.

Happily ever after, the show will run from Monday 12 - Thursday 15 July 2021. Hours: Monday: 3-8pm. Tuesday & Wednesday: 12-8pm, Thursday: 10am-1pm.

The End.
