Welcome to Reclaim! The 2021 MA indie games showcase at Goldsmiths University from the 10th to the 12th of September.

The Independent Games and Playable Experiences MA cohort at Goldsmiths University is presenting its end-of-year game showcase, Reclaim, at St James's Hatcham Church, from 10 to 12 September 2021.

After a year and a half (and in some ways, half a decade) during which we lost touch with our environment, our friends, sometimes parts of ourselves, the time has come to reclaim all the things that matter to us.

Whether serious or frivolous, games extend a mirror to the ways we interact with reality and, through their mechanics, remind us of the terms of our involvement. What better medium, then, to explore this reclaiming in a safe space, a space where we can experiment, take things for a ride without taking them for granted, and find an adequate way of being?

The 2020-2021 Indie Games cohort will be presenting the results of a strange year, fraught with distant communication, challenging mental health, and difficult decisions.

As much as anything, the work we have done is an attempt to reclaim our creativity in the face of changes we didn't expect and have had to dance around. Our themes are the consequence of that: gaining back our space, our relationships, or simply ourselves.

Join us for a weekend of games and conversations, in a bid for all of us, creators and audience alike, to reclaim a new relationship with our world.
