Open Desk is a one to one performative conversation about notions of togetherness with Galit Criden, artist-in-residence in Special Collections.

Open Desk is an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to spend 45 minutes exploring what together could look like, inspired by the Women's Art Library and its collections.

Find Galit in the Library opposite the Help Desk, Tuesdays starting 19th October until 16th November, every session is 45 min from 11:00 - 15:00.

Open Desk allows us to place ourselves in a state of intentional interaction with the other, after a year of dissociation. We will reflect and ask:

How can we offer ways of counter knowledge?
What does together look like?
How can we re-imagine our current relationships?
How would you change? How would I?
How to hold space that allows curiosity to be sparked and ideas to flourish?

How to be Together is hosting a range of activities to help us think, write, read, and perform in a way that gestures towards matriarchal sociality - a coming together that develops with and through bodily knowledge. Events are running through October and November 2021 and include:

“Attention to Body & Rhythm Laboratory” a workshop & performance led by Galit Criden in Special Collections on Friday 22 October 15:00-18:00.

(M)otherwise; Reading Group led by Hannah Bowles and guest speakers online Every Tuesday evening starting 26th October until 23rd November 20:00 - 21:00.

Love Letter Online Workshops led by Sara Tammone. Part l on Sunday 24 October and Part II. Sunday 14 November 4-6pm.

Public Research Talk led by Galit Criden/Laura Kirshenbaum & Althea Greenan. A time dedicated to reflecting the knowledge that has been exchanged in the different events for further exploration/research. 19 November 4-6pm, online
