Everything you ever wanted to know about applying to law firms - an afternoon with Craig Sharpe, Axiom DWFM solicitors.

Craig Sharpe is a Marketing Consultant at Axiom DWFM solicitors. Axiom is a dynamic, fast growing and diverse law firm with over 60 lawyers.

Before working in marketing Craig gained over 15 years experience as a solicitor before changing career in 2010.

Craig’s unusual career journey demonstrates that the legal services market is rapidly changing. These changes are also increasingly reflected in the recruiting of junior lawyers. Find out from Craig what’s really happening and why, because understanding that will help you if you apply to law firms.

There will be an opportunity for a student who attends the event and successfully wins a post event activity to gain some work experience at Axiom DWFM.

Craig will be reflecting on the following issues:

1. Traditional profession vs service provision.

2. Risk sharing

3. Commercial awareness is a mindset.

4. Traditional law firm model v new law firm model

5. Smoke and mirrors?

6. The oven ready trainee

7. You’re hired

8. Try before you buy

9. Adapting to the change

10. Changes have created new opportunities as well as increased competition.

This event is open to all Law students (and to students in other Goldsmiths departments who may be interested in a career in Law).
