The Unit for Global Justice presents Yogesh Maitreya, founder of Indian anti-caste publishing house, Panther's Paw Publication, speaking about his latest publication.

As part of the 'Global Knowledge Struggles' series, the Unit for Global Justice is proud to welcome Yogesh Maitreya, founder of Panther's Paw Publication - an Indian publishing house dedicated to promoting oppressed and anti-caste writers, literature and theory.

In this seminar Yogesh will speak about his latest publication, 'The Mahar Folk'. This is a book written about Yogesh's community by Scottish missionary Alexander Robertson in 1938 and which Yogesh has now annotated. Through this book, Yogesh will speak of his own journey as a writer and publisher and how he sees this book contextualising his community today.

About the Speaker:
Yogesh Maitreya is a poet, translator, essayist and a publisher at Panther's Paw Publication. He is also a PhD scholar at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai), working on the history of anti-caste music in the state of Maharashtra. His books are the blueprint of his existence in this vast world.
