An exhibition by Mya Cavner

Displayed as a streamlined living room set which invites you into the ongoing archive of the loving practice of a designer whilst capturing process as its own outcome 'How Do You Like Your Coffee?' is an archive and installation - examining the question: “Can you design love?” Through seventeen personal, familial, psychological, and scientific experiments, Cavner explores how different types of love take shape in our lives through practice, objects, and experiences. Originally inspired by bell hooks’ definition of love in All About Love, she defines it as “the will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth.” Cavner tests this theory through assignments - each designed to produce objectives, outcomes, and conclusions.
