Abstract
Taking the recent Documenta Fifteen and its attendant controversies as point of departure, this talk discusses the contemporary condition as marked by emergent cultural practices that may constitute divergent histories. In this situation, reassessing concepts from a constellation of intellectual genealogies—as a form of cognitive mapping—can help to provide a basis for critical inquiry and cultural practice.
