Other Rooms, Other Voices is an immersive film-sound artwork that explores Sanford Housing Co-op in Lewisham, the oldest purpose built housing co-operative in the UK.

Other Rooms, Other Voices is an immersive film-sound artwork that explores an expanded form of portraiture. It features ten residents of Sanford Housing Co-operative in Lewisham, the oldest purpose built housing co-operative in the United Kingdom.

Created in 2022 by artist James Bulley in collaboration with Patch Perez, the work employs point-cloud scanning and ambisonic sound recording to investigate the relationship between the human, the more-than-human, and the built environment.

Other Rooms, Other Voices is a co-commission by the Albany, Goldsmiths, University of London, and We Are Lewisham. We Are Lewisham is presented by Lewisham Council and the Albany as part of the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2022.

The physical exhibition and screening of Other Rooms, Other Voices will be open from 12–5pm on Saturday January 15 and Sunday January 16 2023 and is free to access. The work will be screened every 30 minutes for the duration of the exhibition.

Other Rooms, Other Voices will also be screened online and free to access on a dedicated website from Saturday January 14 to Wednesday 15 February 2023.
