The Psychology Department is pleased to welcome Dr Hayley Jach, post-doctoral research fellow at University of Tübingen, to present her research on Curiosity

Curiosity: Explorations in Uncertainty

Personality psychology and cognitive science both define curiosity as the desire to know, but the former views curiosity as a personality trait measured by questionnaires, and the latter as a behaviour measured by information seeking preferences. In this talk, I will describe the research that I have conducted over the past years seeking to integrate these fields, and the discovery that the fields are describing partially different constructs and calling them both curiosity.
