Lewisham Choral Society presents an evening of glorious music by Mozart, opening with the spirited Magic Flute overture.

The lively Te Deum for choir and orchestra was written when Mozart was a mere 13 years old but already displaying prodigious talent.
Exsultate Jubilate, in four contrasting movements, culminates in the dazzling Alleluja, is a showcase for our soprano soloist to display her full vocal bravura.

Mozart’s sublime Requiem, for choir, soloists and orchestra, needs little introduction. The contrasting movements run the full gamut of emotions, from the poignant Lachrymosa to the fiery Dies Irae. The Requiem is masterfully written for all vocal lines, making it a joy for singers and audience alike.

We are delighted to be joining forces once again with the Forest Philharmonic Orchestra, one of London’s leading amateur orchestras, with players drawn from London and the South East. Based in East London for over 50 years, the orchestra has gained an impressive reputation for the high quality and vitality of its performances.

Conductor:
Dan Ludford-Thomas

Soloists:
Eleanor Pennell-Briggs
Abbie Ward
Ben Miller
Allyn Wu
