Event overview
Join the Department of Computing for a relaxing evening to talk about games, dating sims, sex, and romance.
The Department of Computing is hosting a relaxing evening of guest speakers who will talk about computer games, dating sims, otome games, sex, romance, and intimacy, all filtered through the lens of technology.
The event will be opened by Alan Zucconi, Goldsmiths' Director of Postgraduate Studies, who will introduce the below guest speakers for the evening:
Ben Sabin is a freelance narrative designer and games writer who specialises in interactive fiction and branching narratives. He's worked for a number of clients, such as Wizards of the Coast and ITV, and has multiple commercially shipped games under his belt.
Anna Winterstein is a Narrative Designer at Lively, a Keywords Studio, and has also worked freelance on games ranging from cosy visual novels to racing managers. She has a particular interest in romance and sexuality in games; her master's thesis dealt with dating sims, she relished writing sex scenes for Love Island the Game, and she is currently working as writer and editor on several indie, NSFW otome projects.
Chloé Locatelli is a PhD researcher at King’s College London’s Digital Humanities Department. Having completed her Gender Studies Master’s at Universidad de Granada, Spain and Università di Bologna, Italy, Chloé's doctoral work explores the marketing and design of sextech for heterosexual men. This includes, but is not limited to, erotic chatbots; digitalised sex dolls; VR porn experiences, and “sex robots”.
The event will be recorded, and the talks might feature explicit images and videos.
For the occasion, Goldsmiths is opening its door to all people interested in playing games and listening to cool folks working in the game industry.
