Essays in Honour of John Baily

This event marks the launch of the book 'Ethnomusicology and its Intimacies: Essays in Honour of John Baily' (Routledge, 2024) Edited By Stephen Cottrell, Dafni Tragaki and Stephen Wilford.

John Baily was a longstanding member of the Department of Music at Goldsmiths until his retirement in 2008, following which he has continued his association with us as Emeritus Professor of Ethnomusicology and Head of the Afghanistan Music Unit. This important collection of essays has been produced in honour of his eightieth birthday. Please join us for the launch of this volume, which will also feature a variety of short performances, including one by John Baily and Veronica Doubleday.
