Documentary film directors Rajesh Thind and Havana Marking in conversation

Directors Rajesh Thind and Havana Marking join us at the Media Forum to talk about their critically acclaimed films chronicling stories of far right violence and those who resist it.

Thind's 3 part series "Defiance: Fighting the Far Right" was aired last year on Channel 4. The film uses unseen archive footage to chronicle the historic protest movement led by young British Asians in the late '70s and early '80s when they took to the streets to defy right wing racist rhetoric and violence.

Marking's "Undercover: Exposing the Far Right" (Channel 4, 2024) follows the anti-fascist group Hope Not Hate, who reveal how far-right activists are using media strategies to spread racist ideology.

After the Q+A there will be refreshments served.
