Award-winning author, Sita Brahmachari in conversation with Michael Rosen about her new book 'Phoenix Brothers'. Rise up - find your voice, your light, your liberty!

Join us for the exciting launch of Sita Brahmachari's young adult book, 'Phoenix Brothers'. Michael Rosen will be in conversation with Sita Brahmachari about the writing of her latest novel and its tale of resilience, survival and identity.

Amir has faced more challenges than any teenager should ever have to, all in the simple quest for survival. And he’s finding out that life in his new country is bringing a whole new set of challenges … But can Amir find his voice and reclaim his story?

This novel is also about the power of reading. Through books, Amir finds an inspiring, unexpected voice to guide him. Will this help Amir, along with his new friend, Mo, another young unaccompanied refugee, to finally find their voice and come to terms with the past?

Phoenix Brothers is part of the Super-Readable Rollercoasters series, shortlisted for the Teach Secondary Awards 2022 SEND category and ideal for engaging young adult readers (11-14-year-olds). It includes reading notes at the back of the book and a free online resource pack.

There will be book sales and book signing of 'The Phoenix Brothers' at the launch.
