Come join us for a fun and inspiring event where we explore how inclusive education can enhance creative writing skills!

Come join us at Goldsmiths, University of London for an evening filled with inspiration and creativity! Our event, led by MA Creative Writing and Education alumni and inclusive creative educator, Linden McMahon, focuses on the importance of inclusive education and the power of creative writing. Whether you're a teacher, student, or just someone passionate about making education accessible to all, this event is for you. Get ready to learn, share ideas, and connect with like-minded individuals. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be a part of something special!

In this session, Linden will discuss the ways in which creative writing education might address marginalisation by adapting to the needs and experiences of different groups of people, and offering tools to resist oppressive discourses. Sometimes ‘inclusion’ can reproduce inequality by failing to disrupt the norms which cause marginalisation in the first place – trying to make marginalised groups adapt to a setting which was designed for someone else. We will explore ways in which we can avoid this by engaging with the cultural tools of the people we work with on their own terms.

The event takes place in the Margaret McMillan Building, room 220, and online. Please email Dr Francis Gilbert, f.gilbert@gold.ac.uk for more details about joining online, or come along to Goldsmiths at this time/date.
