**Theatre performance of ‘Londoner’ from 7 pm to 9 pm in George Wood Theatre, Laurie Grove, London (Ages 16+ only)

Throughout history, we have all been migrants at different times and in various circumstances. Migration has always been a foundation for our growth, whether economically, socially, or psychologically. But where do we draw the line between simply moving around and truly migrating? Does such a boundary even exist? Today’s global culture is largely shaped by exiles, emigrants, and refugees. Our motivations to move can stem from a need to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe, to seek better opportunities, or for greater security.

Although our lives, living conditions, and jobs might differ, we all have migration experiences—whether from our own journeys or those of our parents, grandparents, or other family members. Each of us carries stories and lessons that can inspire and teach us.

Join us on Saturday, 12 July, at Goldsmiths – University of London for the launch of our 'Migration Stories' project. Come and see the wonderful work that the NewVic Borderlines team created in 2024, alongside migration stories from Stoke-on-Trent. We’d love to hear your stories too, so feel free to share if you’re comfortable.

We look forward to seeing you!

Our community event includes an evening performance of ‘Londoner’ for which a separate booking is required. ‘Londoner’ is a one-woman show telling Fatma’s migration journey from a small Kurdish village in Turkey, near the Syrian border, to Cyprus, and eventually to London.

The performance of ‘Londoner’ is free, but registration is essential. To book tickets for 'Londoner', please visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/migration-stories-tickets-1429870102969?aff=oddtdtcreator
