Event overview
An opportunity to see what Muslims do in their spiritual congregations.
The highlight of 'Discover Islam Week' is the open Friday prayer, a religious observation undertaken by many Muslim students, Friday being a day of special religious observance for Muslims around the world. This will give an opportunity to see what Muslims do in their spiritual congregations.
This event forms the concluding part of ‘Discover Islam Week’.
The aim of the week is to provide insight on the subject of Islam, by exploring the diverse cultural and social characteristics of the people who practice the religion. This week-long series of events has been organised in order to provide a flavour of the religion of Islam. We hope to bring some clarity and to overcome misconceptions of a faith which has quickly become an important part of society today.
Together with your presence and the preparations of the Islamic Society members, we hope that the week will be a great success.
