Rush-hour concert: Dave Smith (piano) in celebration of John White

Pianist Dave Smith will be giving the first performance of his recently completed solo piano "Symphony in 5 movements dedicated to the memory of John White"

Also in the programme will be a couple of the movements ("All This and Less" and "Nails") which date from 2002 and the other three ("Outside", "Mécanique" and "Tiranë Hanky") are from the last couple of months.

Please note that John White’s own "Symphony in 5 movements dedicated to the memory of Alkan" is being performed by pianist Mary Dullea at a Music We’d Like To Hear concert the next day, Friday 31st, at 7.30 pm at St Mary-at-Hill, Lovat Lane, London EC3R 8EB. Together with White’s Symphony for organ and 6 tubas and his Symphonies 3 – 6 for smallish ensemble, with the wonderful George W Welch ensemble.

Free event, all welcome.
