Visual Cultures Public Programme lecture

We are delighted to welcome Mark Leckey to Goldsmiths on Tuesday 25th November, where he will be giving a talk on recent work, followed by a conversation with Simon O’Sullivan.

Mark Leckey is a major British artist, known for his innovative work at the intersection of video, sound and popular culture/subculture. Winner of the prestigious Turner Prize in 2008, he explores themes related to memory, technology, and the impact of cultural objects on our identities. Among his seminal works, Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore (1999) has become a cult classic, documenting British subcultures through a hypnotic collage of archival images. Dream English Kid 1964-1999 AD (2015) revisits his personal history through media fragments, and Exorcism of the Bridge@Eastham Rake (2015) questions the mystical power of modern infrastructure.
