Dr Sarah Pearce, Senior Lecturer in Education, Goldsmiths University of London

This talk explains the main findings of our NEU funded report into English primary and secondary teachers' experiences of standardised curriculum packages in schools. We will look in particular at the way in which these are changing the nature of teachers' core work, and their relationships with students in the classroom.

Dr Sarah Pearce is a Senior Lecturer in Educational Studies at Goldsmiths. She teachers across BA, MA and PhD and PGCE programmes. Her resarch interests centre on racism and anti-racism in schools, student- centred pedagogy, teacher development and teacher responses to government policy.
