Book Launch

Join us for the launch of Ricardo's Dream by Nat Dyer, organised by the History and Methodology of Economic Thought research group at the School of Creative Management.

Ricardo’s Dream is a fascinating investigation into the development of economic thought from David Ricardo’s era to the present day. The book exposes the temptations and dangers of abstracting too much from reality in the pursuit of elegant economic models, offering a heartfelt and reasoned call for a more human economics.

Nat Dyer is a writer and researcher specialising in global political economy. He is a Fellow of the Schumacher Institute and the Royal Society of Arts. He has worked for Global Witness and Promoting Economic Pluralism, and his stories have been covered by the BBC, the New York Times, and Bloomberg.

Dr Tiziana Foresti (Goldsmiths, University of London) and Dr Marco Vianna Franco (Goldsmiths, University of London) will be in conversation with the author.
The event will be chaired by Prof. Ragupathy Venkatachalam (Goldsmiths, University of London).
