Belongings in Motion

A programme show of the MA Anthropology and Museum Practice in collaboration with the Horniman Museum and Gardens. Supported by the Migrants Futures Institute

The exhibition "Belongings in Motion" explores three items from the Horniman Museum and Garden’s Handling Collection. How have these items moved from their source communities to the Horniman? And how have they changed their practice and meaning?

Through a decolonial and ethnographic approach to curating this exhibition tracks the transformation of these objects, united around a central themes of migration and critical heritage theory.

Organized by the MA students in Anthropology and Museum Practice this exhibition is on display in Kingsway Corridor, Richard Hoggart Building.
