A rare opportunity to see the unreleased documentary of the most famous and most sampled breakbeat of all time, The Amen break.

The true story of how its creator became one of the most unsung heroes in history. Learn how seven seconds recorded in 1969 birthed two groundbreaking genres, helped desegregate the modern pop landscape, and shaped contemporary music forever.

Featuring Questlove, Goldie, Alan Leeds, The Winstons, G.C. Coleman's family and many more as we explore the triumph and the tragedy at the heart of the undisputed King of Beats.

This journey spans from a mixed-race band touring the Chitlin Circuit in the segregated United States during the 60s, to the biggest DJs and producers around the world using it today, and even Louis Vuitton naming an entire collection after it. This seven seconds redefined six subsequent decades of music, made billions in hits, and left a musical legacy that rivals Mozart, James Brown, The Beatles, and King Tubby.

A Q&A will follow with the creator of the film, US based documentary maker and DJ, Proto J.

Documentary length: 15 mins. Free to attend.
