MFA degree shows, featuring sets by Yodashe (Panagiota Goutsou) and Matt Creighton “Up From The Tool, Down From The Heart"

7.15pm YODASHE (Panagiota Goutsou) is a London-based artist, producer and electronic improviser. Her music merges influences from classical and cinematic to hyperpop and avant-garde electronics. Her work has been featured in international media including The Fader, DMY, Kaltblut, NOTION, The Line of Best Fit and BBC's Fresh on The Net and she has performed in notable electronic music festivals such as Sonar, Today’s Art, Reworks.
Her quadraphonic live shows incorporate improvisation and audience interaction to create immersive soundscapes.

8pm Matt Creighton “Up From The Tool, Down From The Heart "

Join Matt for his MFA show presenting the Circle Gesture System - a novel real time gesture processor, attached to an agile and diverse synthesis engine with a specially designed tuning system. He explores the capabilities of this new instrument in dialogue with Sammy Margolis (MS20, tape, guitar pedals) and Kuzey Tekinalp (Ableton Live) through a long-form structured improvisation.

Matt’s approach to the improvising ensemble is deeply human and social. He’s interested not just in new tools and sounds, but in the roles and relationships those tools enable. Drawing on a varied career in technology, academia and the arts, Down From The Heart traces the oldest of ideas - communion, solace, transcendance - in the newest of new media.

PureGold: our annual festival of eclectic, innovative and exciting work coming out of the Department of Music. Videos will be posted on our festival website and also YouTube
