Event overview
Goldsmiths PhD Student Tianyuan Zhang will be showing her work at the Evolving Studio event at the Tate Modern, London's principal contemporary art museum.
Sensing Nature is a multisensory, interactive virtual reality installation designed to energize, relax, and enhance human well-being and connection to nature. Through touching different textures, participants unlock cascades of flowers, spatial nature-inspired sounds, and vibrations, which evolved overtime. Each individual's experience is totally unique; they see, hear, and feel the energy of natural growth.
It has been created by Tianyuan Zhang, a PhD student in Arts and Computational Technology in the School of Computing, and Wei Lin, a graduate of the MA Computational Arts.
The work will be shown as part of The Evolving Studio a "marketplace of emerging artists working at the intersection of art and technology". The event will also feature the launch of the Lumen prizes' "The Liminal Review: New Signals in Arts Technologies 2026" written by Rachel Falconer, Head of Creative Technology at Goldsmiths' School of Computing.
