Performed by the composer on the piano and Naomi Sullivan on saxophone, this concert features several works by the experimental composer, arranger and performer Dave Smith.

From the composer Dave Smith: "I composed "Albanian Summer" (alto sax + piano - c.43 minutes) back in 1980 for Jan Steele and Janet Sherbourne, but only played it myself, with Naomi Sullivan, for the first time in May 2025. The work relates to some of the music I got to hear on holidays in Albania in the 1970s and 80s.

Naomi and I will be performing it in Albania in a few weeks time.

Get to hear us play it before we go - at Deptford Town Hall, New Cross Road SE14 6NW, at 6.30 on Thursday 12th November. It will only cost you a fiver! (Goldsmiths students free)

Also on the programme will be my 30-minute piano piece, ""On the virtues of flowers", as well as a "Rapsodi" entitled "Highland Pastures" (a new version for alto sax + piano) by the first Albanian composer I met, Tish Daija (b.1926)."
