An annual event supporting a local charity founded by Sybil Phoenix, former Mayoress of Lewisham and Fellow of Goldsmiths.

The Friends of Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust Annual Lecture will be held on Thursday 22 May 2008. 'Arts and Culture in Education' will be delivered by Dr Mark Phillips OBE, FRSE, FRSA in the Ian Gulland Lecture Theatre Lecture. It will start at 6pm (tea will be served at 5.30pm).

Tickets are free and available from the Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust, telephone 020 8691 5911.

The Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust is a supported housing project for homeless young women. The project has two hostels, both based in the London Borough of Lewisham. The Trust was founded by Sybil Phoenix MBE, MS in 1979. Sybil is a Fellow of Goldsmiths, Freeman of the City of London, Freeman of Lewisham, Former Mayoress of Lewisham, Methodist Minister, Honorary President of National Council of Women in Great Britain, and Vice President of the Commonwealth Youth Council.
