As part of our Health & Wellbeing initiative, HR is pleased to offer a special session of the Time Out at Work massage in conjunction with the Stress & Anxiety Management Workshop 11/6/09 (see event on calendar - places still available).
The massage will be given by GAVIN BLUNDELL (ITEC, LCIC). Gavin is a qualified and insured massage therapist and a member of the Complementary Therapists Association.
Gavin specialises in two treatments: Seated Bodywork (On-Site) and Indian Head Massage:
Indian Head Massage is based on the traditional form of head massage practised in India for over 1,000 years. This therapy is sometimes referred to as 'Champissage', a Hindi word meaning 'Head Massage' from which the word 'shampoo' is derived. The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders. It is especially good for relieving stress, tension, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, migraine and sinusitis; promotes a sense of calmness, a release of anxiety and helps in clearer thinking.
Seated Bodywork (also called "On-Site" massage) is a derived from the ancient Oriental massage arts of Anma and Shiatsu. It focuses on key tension areas in the shoulders, neck, back, head, arms and hands. Seated bodywork is excellent for relieving stress and tension and encouraging knotted, tight muscles to loosen up. It helps with backache, repetitive strain injury, asthma, headaches, migraines, toothache, fatigue, sinus problems, eyestrain, anxiety, irritability and insomnia.
