Event overview
Hands on workshop (re)acquainting academic teaching staff with some of the most commonly-used aspects of learn.gold, Goldsmiths' Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
For staff, visiting lecturers and student reps there is a repeating 90-minute introductory / refresher session to learn.gold, followed by an optional 30 minutes of self-directed exploration with an expert on hand.
We cover the following: what a VLE is; what a VLE course area is; how to set up an area; adding / creating resources; using the Forum tool to communicate; revealing, hiding and moving different parts of your area; adding students and tutors; and (if time) setting and collecting work.
This is a hands-on session limited to 6 places, taking place in the staff open access computer suite, Warmington Tower 307.
You don't need to know anything about computers to attend - just bring your IT Services username and password (the one you use for Goldsmiths email).
To register for a session, you can email Mira Vogel at m.vogel@gold.ac.uk or (ideally) use the sign-up form on learn.gold, linked below.
