The Common Turn in Performance

Part of the Performance Research Forum events, curated and chaired by Dr Anna Furse.

Gavin Butt is Reader in the Department of Visual Cultures, Goldsmiths, University of London. He is author of 'Between You and Me: Queer Disclosures in the New York Art World 1948-1963' (Duke University Press) and editor of 'After Criticism: New Responses to Art and Performance' (Blackwell).

He is currently co-director, with Adrian Heathfield and Lois Keidan, of Performance Matters, a three-year creative research project on the cultural value of performance - http://www.thisisperformancematters.co.uk. He is also researching a new book tentatively entitled 'The Common Turn in Performance'.
