Event overview
All colleagues are invited to join a green travel workshop to consider, revise and agree the draft green travel plan, and discuss ways of implementing the actions proposed for car-sharing, cycling, parking and walking.
We will get together from 12.15-1.45pm on Thursday 8 March 2012 in the senior common room, Richard Hoggart Building. Light refreshments will be provided.
This event follows results of a travel survey open to all colleagues towards the end of 2010, where results revealed 53% of people use public transport, and the number of staff driving to work has reduced from 30% in 2002 to 23.5% in 2010.
You can view a summary and analysis of the survey results: http://www.gold.ac.uk/media/GC%20Staff%20Travel%20Survey%202010%20May%20Report2%20_2_.pdf.
These results, especially the ‘suggested actions’, have been used to inform our ‘Staff Travel Plan’.
The plan puts forward a package of measures to compliment the Student Travel Plan, demonstrating Goldsmiths’ commitment to encouraging greener, cleaner, sustainable transport choices by both staff and students. And here is your chance to ensure measures and policies put forward in the plan into action are adequate and fair.
If you would like to propose amendments or additions to the plan, please contact Erica Drew, Environmental Advisor, e.drew@gold.ac.uk.
