What technology wants, what people want, what the city wants, and why they're not the same...

CAST is delighted to announce the first “in-residence” public lecture from acclaimed author and futurist, Ben Hammersley. Ben is the CAST innovator in residence for the 2012/13 academic year. This role involves mentoring students, delivery of a short course available to the public and this public lecture.

At the lecture Ben and CAST will be announcing their unique collaboration in the delivery of a short course in May 2013. Places will be very limited – attend this lecture for an opportunity to register your interest.

About Ben: Ben Hammersley is a British internet technologist, journalist, author, broadcaster, and diplomat. He is the Prime Minister's Ambassador to East London Tech City and Editor at Large of Conde Nast's Wired UK magazine.

He specializes in the effects of the internet and the ubiquitous digital network on the world's political, cultural and social spheres. He now enjoys an international career as a speaker, explaining complex technological and sociological topics to lay audiences, and as a high-level advisor on these matters to governments and business.

Venue: Goldsmiths (room number supplied after tickets have been ordered)
