Discussion of how women relate to the idea of 'feminism'

Event kicking off a week of meetings, discussions, film screenings, performances and a comedy night to celebrate International Women's Day and to remember the achievements of women struggling around the world for liberation.

An open and informal meeting where we will hear how a number of women relate to the idea of 'feminism'. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Speakers:

Bev Skeggs - Head of Goldsmiths Sociology Department
Bev will be presenting a more academic angle on Feminism. Her research interests include: class, media and culture, feminist and poststructuralist theory, Bourdieu and Marx.

Minna Salami (Ms Afropolitan), blogger, writer and commentator on Africa, feminism, popular culture, fashion, identity & race and editor of multiple award-nominated MsAfropolitan.com.
