Featuring keynote speakers Richard Barrett, James Saunders and Sam Hayden

This symposium will bring together composers, researchers and practitioners working in contemporary music, and musicologist studying the influence notation has had for composers and performers.

Keynote 1:
Richard Barrett (Institute of Sonology, The Hague): "Notation as liberation"

Also featuring papers by Dr Lauren Redhead (Canterbury Christchurch University), Dr Pedro Rebelo, Dr Franziska Schroeder and Dr Justin Yang (Queen’s University, Belfast), Zubin Kanga (Royal Academy of Music), Dr Magda Polo (University of Barcelona), Joan Pamies (Northwestern University, Illinois), Dr Dimitris Exarchos / Pavlos Antoniadis (Goldsmiths / Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber, Dresden), Dr Roddy Hawkins (University of Manchester) and Dr Sebastian Berweck.
