Goldsmiths LGBTQ* Society Presents: 'Out' in the Workplace: LGBTQ teachers on the realities of being 'out' in education
It can be tough for many members of the LGBTQ community to come out to themselves and their family and friends, but what about after that i.e. the workplace and beyond?
For many entering the teaching profession it can seem like a daunting prospect to be open regarding their sexual orientation, it is after all, a highly personal matter and many would prefer to avoid unwanted attention from students and particularly their parents. But what benefit, if any, can be gained from being open and 'out' in a workplace like that of a school? Our panel will be discussing these issues.
Featuring:
