Maulen Alimbayev was born in 1989, in Kazakhstan. He started playing the piano at the age of six. His piano teacher since age of 8 was Irina Bossina.
At the age of 9, he has performed a first concert with an orchestra; at the age of 13 he has performed complete Rachmaninov Concerto No. 3 with Tomsk State Orchestra (in Russia).
He is a laureate and prize winner of many national and international competitions. He performs regularly with orchestras and gives solo recitals in Kazakhstan (most major halls), Russia, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
An experienced concert pianist, Maulen has performed major works such as Brahms Concerto No. 2, Tchaikovsky Concerto No. 1, Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 3, and Rhapsody on the theme of Paganini with various orchestras around the world, as well as participating in competitions in Kazakhstan, Russia, Italy, Germany, and Spain.
Maulen recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Hamish Milne. He received his Masters degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London with Martino Tirimo.

He is a scholar of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Scholarship – “Bolashak” and is gratefully supported by the Jimmy Cross Prize Fund Scholarship.
