Max Stirner was one of the most radical and controversial thinkers of the post-Hegelian tradition. His philosophy of egoism had an enormous influence on existentialism, individualist anarchism, strands of feminism, and the artistic avant-garde in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Yet today his thought is often misunderstood or ignored altogether. This event will revisit Stirner's work and explore his unique contribution to political theory and philosophy. This is a one-day symposium organised by the Research Unit for Politics and Ethics (RUPE).
